Choosing and costing Choosing and costing

What Dynamics 365 Business Central costs in South Africa.

Two quotes for the same Business Central project can differ threefold because the partners priced different projects. Here is how the number is built, so you can compare quotes properly.

← South Africa hub

The five cost lines

Every Dynamics 365 programme has the same five lines. A quote that hides one of them is not cheaper, it is incomplete.

Licences: per user, per month, set by Microsoft and bought through a partner. Essentials, Premium and Team Member users are priced differently, and add-on apps are priced by their vendor.
Implementation: discovery, design, configuration, testing and go-live, usually the largest line.
Data migration: cleansing, mapping, loading and reconciling.
Integration and extension: banks, payroll, e-commerce, SARS-related reporting and custom functionality.
Training and support: role-based training, hypercare and an ongoing support agreement.

What moves the number

These drivers account for most of the difference.

Number and type of users
Number of legal entities and currencies
Integrations and their complexity
Amount of data and history to migrate
Gaps against standard, found in the fit-gap
Compliance scope: payroll, public-sector procurement, regulator returns
Internal availability: a slow decision loop costs money on both sides

Rand, dollar and VAT

Microsoft sets licence pricing and the currency it is quoted in varies by programme, so rand exposure is real. VAT at the standard rate applies to licences and services as the law provides. We state currency and VAT treatment explicitly in every quote so you can compare like with like.

How to compare partner quotes

Ask each partner the same five questions.

What assumptions about users, entities and integrations are in the price?
How many days of discovery and design are included, and what do they produce?
What is excluded: migration, training, hypercare, extensions, payroll?
How are scope changes priced and approved?
What does support cost after go-live, and what response times are committed?

How an engagement runs

It starts with a 45-minute consultation, then a discovery and fit-gap workshop on your own processes. You receive a written fit-gap and a phased plan before a programme is agreed. Four phases follow, each with something you can use and review.

01

Discover

Process workshops, data audit, and a fit-gap against the standard product.

02

Design

Solution blueprint, integration map, and the extensions we will actually need.

03

Deploy

Configuration, migration rehearsal, role-based training, UAT and phased cutover.

04

Support

Hypercare, managed services, client portal, scheduled optimisation reviews.

What drives the cost: users, legal entities and currencies, integrations, data migration and the gaps found against standard. See how pricing works or run the three-minute readiness score.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Business Central cost in South Africa?

It depends on users, entities, integrations, migration and gaps against standard. A discovery workshop turns your processes into a scoped quote.

Is there a fixed-price option?

We scope in phases and can fix the price of defined phases once the scope is agreed, with change control for anything outside it.

Is payroll included?

PayrollFlow 365 is scoped as part of compliance. We state whether it is included, and its cost, separately in the quote.
